You guys! I have a little-ish but also giant secret to share with you! A few years ago I stumbled upon the tiniest little donut shop I’ve ever seen and found that they make the BEST donuts ever! Hands down. THE. BEST. DONUTS. I wouldn’t say I’m a donut lover and can usually keep my self-control in check and decline most donuts. But, when these little guys show up anywhere I cannot for the life of me pass one up! The glazed donuts are my absolute favorite and they legit melt in your mouth. Basically it’s like heaven in your mouth and I’m not even lying a little bit about that fact.
Every payday at my work, donuts are served to the employees = Donut Pay Day’s. It’s a thing that I’ve become accustomed to but secretly my diet and me loathe it and loathe the fact that I’ve been lacking in self control lately and always eat one. Fast forward to last week and the person who is always in charge of picking up donuts was out of town. Instead of thinking oh good now I won’t have any temptations at work you bet your bottom dollar that my mind jumped to the greatest donuts on this fine planet. Rather than think it through I volunteered to pick up the donuts for Donut Pay Day’s at work. I instantly regretted this for the calories that I consumed in the next 24 hours but I just needed my coworkers to taste this magical donut for themselves.
Fresh Donut & Daily is this little donut shop off of State Street and about 29th South in Salt Lake City. I went to the gym first thing in the morning and made my way to pick up the donuts around 7:15. I arrived to the donut shop around 7:30 AM and was not surprised to see the line outside the door. This place opens up at 5:00 AM and I immediately became a little worried that they would run out of glazed donuts before it got to be my turn in line (this has happened before and I wanted to cry). Luckily I was fortunate to get three dozen glazed donuts, one dozen cake donuts and some apple fritter type of delicious donut things. I felt bad for taking the last freshly baked glazed donuts but let’s be honest, it’s a dog eat dog world out there and everyone behind me in line would’ve done the same thing. Atleast that’s what I told myself. It’s fine.
It was a rough day food wise and calorie wise for me that day….I ended up eating approximately four or five donuts and felt super gross-ish by the end of it. If I could’ve stopped at one or two I would’ve been golden buuuuuuut you know me. I can’t stop won’t stop when favorite foods are around.
After getting off of work I went straight to Athleta to work my shift there. I was stuffed and wasn’t planning on eating dinner. Who am I kidding, me miss dinner? The joke was definitely on me. I got off around 10:30 PM and was starving. Super hungry. I ended up at the Pie Hole in downtown SLC at 11:30 PM and stuffed my face full of pizza. It was delicious and was just what my tummy wanted. It wasn’t what my body needed. I’m still working on the whole don’t stuff anything/everything down my throat. It’s a work in progress.
That’s really the end of the story. I know you guys probably don’t believe me but I promise you I work out everyday! I try to workout hard. I keep chasing my bad eating with over exercising which has resulted in a stress fracture in my shin. Super disappointing. Super hard to accept. But again, I’m a work in progress and far from perfect. I try to take each day at a time and will somehow find the balance in this crazy mess called life.
